Through impact1 we hope to:
Financially sponsor 200 children living in poverty in AIDS-stricken countries through World Vision.
Raise $12,500, half of the amount needed to build a medical clinic in Africa to treat AIDS victims.
Invite students at Cal Poly and members of the San Luis Obispo community to a greater awareness of global issues, a greater heart for justice and advocacy, and greater involvement in fighting injustice.
impact1 is a partnership with World Vision, through their program Acting on AIDS.
World Vision is a Christian relief and development organization dedicated to helping children and their communities worldwide reach their full potential by tackling
the causes of poverty. Their non-profit work extends assistance to all people, regardless of their religious beliefs, gender, race, or ethnic background. www.worldvision.org
Acting on AIDS is a program started by college students to create awareness and promote activism on the global AIDS pandemic at colleges and universities across the nation.
